Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

A speech/language evaluation uses a variety of assessment measures to show how your speech, language, and/or cognition skills compare to others of similar demographics. This enables us to better understand strengths and needs and to develop a uniquely designed, effective, and efficient treatment plan.
Our sessions are one-on-one with a focus on helping you and/or your family member achieve goals in a fun, relaxed environment. For toddlers and younger children, this will probably look a lot like play! For older children and adults, it may look more structured and consist of repetitions (fun still applies!).
What's the difference between school services & private speech therapy?
School based speech therapy serves children with disabilities through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). These services are regulated and funded by the federal government, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA, 2004). Services are only allotted for children who qualify with a disability that adversely impacts their education. Some kids who may exhibit speech or language weaknesses do not qualify because of the stringent requirements.
Private therapy does not make these distinctions. Even if your child does not qualify for school based services, we can still serve them. We are happy to support your child's communication regardless of their eligibility for school based services.
At this time, Triangle Pathway Therapy does not accept any insurances besides NC Medicaid, NC Health Choice, Carolina Complete Health, Healthy Blue, United Healthcare’s Community Plan, and Wellcare.
We are considered out-of-network with all other insurance providers. However, we are glad to offer the option of being a private pay clinic and are able to provide a Super Bill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement of treatment services. Triangle Pathway Therapy can not guarantee that services will be reimbursed by your insurance company and is not liable. We will provide you with an invoice for therapy that can be submitted to your insurance.
