Refers to a person's ability to understand information presented to him/her.

Difficulty in this area may be observed with:

• following directions

• answering questions

• understanding vocabulary

• identifying pictures or concepts

• sequencing 

Refers to a person's ability to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and feelings either verbally or through augmentative and alternative communication.

Difficulty in this area may be observed with:

• forming grammatically correct age appropriate phrases or sentences

• asking questions

• making comments

• labeling pictures 

• word finding

The ability to say specific sound(s) or a system of phonological patterns to have intelligible speech.

Difficulty in this area may be observed with:

• substituting sounds

• deleting sounds

• adding sounds

• distorting sounds

The ability to verbally communicate a message in as fluent of a manner as possible in a variety of settings.

Difficulty in this area may be observed with:

• repetition of sounds, words, phrases

• physical concomitants (i.e., head nodding, eye blinking)

• avoidance behaviors and negative emotional responses

The convenience of tele-therapy is being offerred for flexiblilty to those who may not live in the area or prefer the online capability.  Therapy prices are the same for both in person and teletherapy sessions.
